Putting it all together~
Try breathing exercises when life seems overwhelming or under appreciative. Breathing connects us to the very atmosphere that we all share. Breathing in the essence of life, breathing out our life to share. peace.

Great Fares again to Hawaiian Islands!! from Eugene or Portland
Sunrise Travel Hawaii Specials!!Or even the West Coast!! Eugene to Kona is October is less than $500 for the airfare alone-the packages are anywhere from $800 to $8000 per person!! I mean you could stay at the Presidential Suite in a Grand Hyatt and spend $25,000 per night. That's not generally what my peeps are looking for. Nor are most of them looking at the truly "budget" properties!! As an example- a couple could fly from Portland to Maui in January, spend 7 nights at the Royal Kahana in a studio ocean view condo unit with a 7 day rental car and the total price for 2 including travel insurance is $2040. That seems really good to me. If you wanted an even greater bargain the studio mountain view units at the Lahaina Shores is offering a "hard hat" special (!) due to construction/rennovation and the total for the same 7 days is $1600. This is all making a week's vacation in January or February when our west coast winters are getting fairly dreary an affordable possiblity!! Check out the link above to our website and our link with All About Hawaii- the best wholesaler in the Pacific Northwest. You can always email me at sunrise too - cheris.sunrise@pacinfo.com

Alaska starts Non-stop PDX-Maui Service
Alaska Airlines will start flying from Portland Oregon to Maui Hawaii August 7 2009. They will fly non-stop on Wednesday, Friday and Sundays only leaving Portland around 10am and departing Maui around 3pm. We like it!! They have announced a sale for travel Aug-Dec excluding all dates that are even remotely around a holiday. The sale airfare with all taxes and fees is appx $385 roundtrip per person. Some condos on Maui are offering every 3rd night free and the Lahaina Shores is offering a "hard hat special" with their ongoing rennovations so the packages are starting at $999 per person for air, car and condo for 7 days!!! Once again, we like it!!. I am happy to answer any and all queries free of charge.
I am always on the lookout for great fares to Europe and when I mention any pricing it is from the West Coast. Most cities in a given international region are "common rated" i.e. the same pricing!!! Portland, Seattle, Eugene, Boise, hmmm . At least those!! San Francisco and Los Angeles are usually the same and a little less than the other West Coast cities. Does this help? I saw a fare listed from Portland to Frankfurt for $216 roundtrip!!! When you add the fuel surcharges , international taxes and fees that fare becomes $495!! More in taxes than the cost of the seat. The good news is you can travel to Europe from the West Coast for less than I can visit my daughter in Chicago in May. The fare is advertised for March 28 to May 26 2009 travel dates. The US Dollar is really good against the Euro right now so travel budget is looking good. Wholesale pre-purcased hotels can help with the overall cost. That's how I like to do it and not go wandering the streets looking for a hotel once I get there. I hate that!!! So little time, so much to see and no time at all to waste on looking for accomodation.
Life is good. Let's travel!!

Rambling Poem to Mother
Or The Oncologist
Nobody told us what an oncologist was.
It was 1990 and not a familiar word yet.
Mother had gone to her Doctor with stomach pains
after many tests he referred her to an oncologist
who was in Hawaii on vacation.
Take someone with you.
I was visiting from the sweet Aloha State.
I'll drive I said, or something like that.
We sat in 2 chairs facing the oncologist facing us.
Exploratory surgery he said
to determine the type of cancer.
Our hands responded as if dormant power ranger magnets
had activited in them and shot across that small space between us.
Clasping unbelieving.
No one had said the "c" word before.
Perhaps we should have asked what an oncologist was.
Our eyes straight ahead locked on this man's face. The oncologist.
Unable to look at each other yet.
My eyes filled with disbelief
My Mother's with fear.
What next we both wondered?
There is no next.
Now is all we are given.
Each breath Each day Each birth passing in to death.
Joyous wonderous life
Painful strident life
to be lived NOW.
Our triumph is tha we lived and loved.
Our heartache that we are afraid to.
Amen
